Born in Birmingham Tracy Hill studied Fine Art at Bournville School of Art and Sheffield Hallam University.

Currently working at University of Central Lancashire Hill’s research examines how the conventional processes of printmaking and the new developing acrylic and digital technologies can be combined to produce new ways to challenge the definitions of print.

In 2011 I was a resident artist at Pyramid Atlantic Art studios, programmed to run a master class on Acrylic soft ground.

The Bluecoat printmaking studios Liverpool – 2009 on going.
Invited Lead Artist on teaching programme for Acrylic based intaglio courses.
Recently published research into ‘safer’ alternatives to rosin aquatint for use in community based print studios (with colleague Emma Gregory, studio manager at The Bluecoat Liverpool).

Artist Residencies:

International artist residency at Pyramid Atlantic Studios, Washington DC, USA 2011.
In 2011 I joined the master printmakers at Pyramid Atlantic print studios as part of my research project with Martha Oatway, President of Washington Printmakers.  I was given full access to their studios to make a new body of works.  This work was shown in December 2011 at the Washington Printmakers Gallery in Washington DC and also at The Harris Museum and Art Gallery in Preston as part of The Guild year celebrations in 2012.fou

Artist residency at The Centre for Contemporary Art, UCLan, Preston 2010.
During 2010 I was artist in residence at the Centre for Contemporary Arts where I explored the relationship between print, site and archive.  The resulting body of work was shown over 3 weeks as a series of installations and later shown as part of the Long night celebrations in Liverpool.
